Stressed Out Skin

There is nothing worse than waking up to a bad skin day.
I have always suffered from bad skin...
The full whack - oily, dry, sensitive, blemish prone, NIGHTMARE skin.
The older I get, the wiser I have become about maintaining healthy clear skin.
My mum has always instilled in me, since I was small, the importance of having a good skincare routine. She still gets mistaken for my sibling, and I truly believe her wise words are the key to her beautiful, youthful glow!
Finally I have found products that work for me, that keep all/most of my pesky skin worries at bay.

So today, I am sharing with you my every day skincare routine with a combat product for the days my skin decides to flare up and is in need of some serious TLC.
I have been a fan of Burts Bee's facial skincare range for the last two years. I picked up the cleansing cream on a whim...I thought it looked good and I have always been a fan of other BB body products.
I now cannot go without it! I have tried and tested many others, but without fail  I ALWAYS go back to it... my skin simply loves it!
The exfoliator and moisturiser are fairly new to the mix, however I am already hugely impressed.
Lush products are a staple for me, there is always something of theirs kicking about my bathroom.
My sister introduced me to this wonder, my hero product - Mask of Magnaminty.
Perfect for those hormonal/stress, spot flare ups which need tackling PRONTO!
The first thing I do, morning and night is use this Micellar water. I have never been a fan of toners. Honestly, I have never really had the patience, until this came along and now I am well and truly converted.
Firstly can we take a moment to appreciate my cotton pad/bud jar...
I found it in the M&S sale and it was love at first sight!
Garnier have a range of these Micellar waters for different skin types. So far, this is my favourite. Fresh smelling, refreshing on the skin and it just lifts any lingering makeup or muck that might be left on your skin.
I use a fresh cotton pad and swipe it over my face to make sure I take away any excess oils or mascara that I might have missed.
I try to be as gentle on the eyes as possible, as the skin around your eyes is the finest skin on your body. Heavy, dragging movements can cause bags! Ain't nobody got be gentle.
This face wash is just glorious. It is a cream wash, but it does have a subtle lather which makes it feel lovely and luxurious. It has a tingly minty sensation too that really makes your skin feel awakened and fresh!
I pop a small amount on my hands and onto a damp face, work it into my skin in circular motions. Once my face and neck are covered, I turn to my next hero purchase...
This little guy is the dream!
I have used gritty/gentle exfoliators, face brushes and nothing was gentle or effective enough. I was just left with red, sore skin and breaking out even more.
Finally I came across this... an Ultrasonic electric facial cleansing brush.
Quite simply the best inventions ever.
There are a variety of different types of these brushes on the market, with varying price tags, but this is by far the best for price and results.
This is a skin-friendly, silicone, zero damage to the skin, deep pore cleansing, long-term use product. It has the 15 days standby time, 5-speed control to meet the needs of your exfoliation. Completely waterproof, compact and easy to carry.
One great feature - it is timed and pulses to tell you when to change to a different area of your face.
What makes me exceptionally happy... it lights up too!
Essentially, it is a vibrator...for your face.
I like to use this twice on my skin, to make sure it is thoroughly cleansed and exfoliated, working all the face wash into my skin.
It looks like a shell, and gives me beautiful, soft and clear skin. It basically is the best thing since sliced bread...
The next step of this pamper routine is a face mask.
As I mentioned before, it was my sister who introduced me to this lush product and I simply cannot thank her enough!
This is 'Mask of Magnaminty'. This is a deep cleansing mask for your face and can be used on your back and chest too, if you suffer from blemish prone skin there also.
It is a vacuum for all the debris that get trapped in your skin.
It draws out all the impurities, cleanses the skin and heals it too.
It goes on like a paste and dries out, as it is a clay mask. So it makes your skin feel a little taught which is when you know to take it off.
The main ingredients are aduki beans to exfoliate flaky or dry skin, peppermint to draw out the debris, vanilla absolute to calm redness and honey to soothe and heal.
I usually put this on and hop into a nice hot bath or shower as the steam helps the mask work harder for even better results
I then use a clean, hot face cloth to wipe off the mask.
Finally I use this moisturiser to soften and soothe my beautiful fresh skin.
I hope some of you will take something from this post and that you have enjoyed it!
I'll be back with more soon!
