Now I know this is a little late, however...consider this a favour because - this box was so bloody wonderful that I guarantee any of these products would make a wonderful Christmas pressie!

The Carrick Golf Spa, Loch Lomond

My man and I were hugely fortunate to have a time share all to ourselves for 4 days just after we arrived back in Scotland, after our holiday in the South of France.
The time share is linked with the gorgeous Cameron House Resort which is nestled on the banks of Loch Lomond.

Chasing the Sun in Limoux, South of France

Our day started off slow, as the rest of the family had gone on a hike. We were keen to take a slower pace, so we started with a picnic by the river.

Carcassonne, South of France

Carcassonne is only a short-ish car journey from Limoux, so it only seemed right that we went for a little visit.

It is a fortified French town, famous for it's Medieval Fortress - Cite De Carcassonne.
With the sun beating down on us, we took a gentle stroll through this magnificent structure and I have to say...it was not what I expected!

From the outside, it's impressive turrets and towers lead you to believe that inside will be a historic monument, with perhaps a sleeping princess or two...maybe a dragon...but it was so much more!
Inside the castle is it's own little village of boutique shops and restaurants, bars, gift shops, performers and more...
The grounds are simply bursting with beautiful designs and detail...
People come from far and wide to spend a whole day milling around the shops, marvelling at all the incredible buildings, before finding a resting spot in the sunshine to feast and drink the afternoon away.
And before you ask...yes I did drag my man into almost every single shop - but when they look this pretty, it is hard to resist!
We found a spot in the shade to have some lunch and a coffee before our little adventure continued...
The walk around the castle is just as impressive as it is inside, and leads you out to stunning views over the town.
Very hot and a little tired, we found ourselves wandering into Carcassonne, and every inch of it looked like it belonged on a postcard.
Pastel coloured houses with peeling paint and beautiful shutters, lined the streets of this charming town.
As the sun started to set, we stopped to admire the magnificent view we had left behind...
So that was just a little insight into Carcassonne, it is well worth a visit if you get the chance.

The next post coming is possibly my favourite of the trip so keep your eyes peeled!
